In late 2023, I packed up my life in Vietnam and flew across the world to Vancouver to pursue my MBA. I was chasing a dream—not just of a new degree, but of becoming a global marketer with the mindset, skills, and network to thrive in the Canadian market.

It wasn’t just a change in geography—it was a full reset. New language context. New business culture. New challenges. And most importantly, a new version of myself I was eager to meet.
🌏 Learning to Navigate a New Market
Back home, I had spent years working in marketing for leading brands in Vietnam—VinFast, Vietnam Airlines, and Vingroup. I loved launching campaigns, coordinating with creative teams, and telling brand stories that mattered. But Canada? It was a different game.

Here, consumers expect authenticity, inclusivity, and sustainability. Marketing isn’t just about pushing a message—it’s about building community and earning trust. My MBA at University Canada West gave me the tools to understand that shift. Courses in marketing management, digital strategy, and business ethics helped me reframe my approach and align my experience with Western standards.

💡 What I Brought—and What I Gained
I came to Vancouver with strong hands-on experience in:
Campaign launches targeting Gen Z
Social media strategy across fashion, airline, and event industries
Cross-functional team collaboration in fast-paced environments

But what I’ve gained here is equally valuable:
A data-driven mindset and confidence with tools like Tableau
Real case competition wins and consulting experience
A deep understanding of how diversity, equity, and inclusion shape branding
✨ Redefining Success
Before I moved, I thought success was about titles, big brands, and campaign results. Now, I believe success is also about:
Being bold enough to start over
Staying curious and always learning
Building bridges between cultures and perspectives

This shift has made me not only a better marketer but a more grounded human being. I now see every campaign, job, or conversation as a chance to connect people with meaning—not just messages.
🎯 What’s Next
I’m now looking to grow with a team that values both creativity and impact. I want to contribute to a brand that sees storytelling as more than content—and customers as more than buyers. Whether it’s fashion, tech, wellness, or entertainment, I’m ready to build marketing that feels real, relevant, and results-driven.
Final Thought
Moving to Canada didn’t just teach me how to work differently—it taught me how to think differently. And that, I believe, is the greatest asset I now bring to the table.
