Indigenous Tourism Attraction Business Plan
Project Type

Date
December 2024
Role
Team Leader
Location
Vancouver, BC, Canada
This project presents a comprehensive and culturally respectful business plan for launching a sustainable Indigenous tourism venture in British Columbia, Canada. Designed by a team of MBA students from University Canada West, the initiative aims to connect international tourists—particularly from Europe and India—with authentic First Nations cultural experiences. The idea was inspired by the growing global demand for meaningful, immersive travel, and the desire to empower Indigenous communities through ethical tourism.
Through extensive research, stakeholder interviews, and market analysis, we developed a hybrid business model combining community-based tourism with experiential cultural activities such as storytelling, guided tours, and workshops. The plan emphasizes community engagement, equitable profit-sharing, lean operations, and strong digital integration. It also outlines a phased implementation strategy, supported by a realistic financial roadmap and risk mitigation plan.
Ultimately, this project reflects our commitment to creating tourism experiences that are not only economically viable but also socially responsible and culturally authentic.
